Wahida Ahmed

Wahida Ahmed has played a major role in the development and curation of contemporary art practices from North East India. She has conceptualised major exhibitions on the subject, including Blurred Perimeters, a group show of North Eastern artists by Raza Foundation, which was organised in collaboration with India International Centre, New Delhi, 2018. Her other shows include Blurred Perimeters (Kaziranga), an interactive workshop on art pedagogy and ecology, involving local children and artists; and Blurred Perimeters (Community and Life), Dwijing Fest 2018-19, Bodoland, Assam. She has exhibited her works widely at national and international exhibitions. Some of her major solo exhibitions include Weaving Dreams, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2011); Nishabda, State Art Gallery, Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati (2007); and Intimacies of Silence, Sivasagar, Assam (2008).

She is the recipient of ‘Naari Shakti Award’ by Lions International, 2015. She has two publications of Assamese poetry to her credit: Bindu Alekh Bindu and Jibon Dristi.

The Guwahati-based artist received a Diploma in Fine Arts from.Kolkata.
