Manir’s photo tapestries are inspired by paintings of old masters, and his expanded use of the photographic medium creates new responses to iconic artworks. His self-portraits and tableau vivant are experimental and sceptical with an imagined drama, where the artist constantly traces new relations between his personal life and the material world.

Manir completed his Masters in Painting from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Recent notable exhibitions include: Cross Casting at Britto Art Space, Dhaka, Bangladesh (2014); Dhaka Art Summit at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (2014); INexactly THIS – Kunstvlaai Festival of Independents, Amsterdam, Netherlands (2012); and Chobi Mela VIII, Dhaka, Bangladesh (2015); and Unseen CO-OP Amsterdam, 2017.
